Editorial and Retraction Policy
All submitted manuscripts are read by the editorial staff. Manuscripts deemed unsuitable for the journal’s criteria by the editor will be rejected immediately without external review. Manuscripts considered potentially valuable for the journal’s readership will be forwarded for double-blind peer review. The editor will then make a decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations, choosing from the following options: rejection, major revision, minor revision, or acceptance. The Editor-in-Chief of Journal Juridisch has the authority to decide which manuscripts are selected for publication.
Submitted manuscripts are generally reviewed by two or more experts who are asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically valid and coherent, whether it duplicates existing published work, and whether it is sufficiently clear to be published. The editor will make a decision based on these reports and, when necessary, consult with members of the Editorial Board. The journal applies a rigorous peer-review policy to ensure the quality of its publications. The peer-review process consists of an initial screening, a double-blind review, and an editorial decision.
Initial Screening
The editor evaluates each submitted manuscript to determine whether its content aligns with the journal’s scope. The manuscript also undergoes a similarity check to detect potential plagiarism. Manuscripts that do not fit the journal’s scope or contain high similarity levels will be returned to the authors immediately.
Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening proceed to a double-blind peer-review process in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. At least two reviewers will be assigned to evaluate the manuscript and provide recommendations. In assigning reviewers, the editor is responsible for avoiding conflicts of interest throughout the review process.
Decision
The editor makes the final decision regarding the suitability of the manuscript for publication based on the reviewers’ comments and recommendations.
Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are strictly prohibited. The journal uses plagiarism detection tools to identify text similarities. Proper quotations and citations must be provided where necessary. For plagiarism screening, the Editorial Board of Journal Juridisch uses Turnitin. If plagiarism exceeding 25% is detected, the manuscript will be rejected immediately. Before publication, authors are required to submit a written Author Originality Statement. This statement must be signed by at least one author who has obtained the consent of all co-authors, where applicable.
Retraction Policy
The journal’s editors cannot independently determine which articles are published. Publication decisions are guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board and are constrained by legal requirements related to defamation, copyright infringement, duplicate publication, and plagiarism. Published articles will remain part of the journal record except under exceptional circumstances that warrant retraction or removal.
