Author Guidelines

Transformatika: Journal of Transformative Intelligent Systems and Informatics invites authors to submit original research that has not been published or is under consideration elsewhere. Submissions must adhere to the following technical, ethical, and editorial guidelines.

1. General Requirements

  • Language: All manuscripts must be written in professional academic English or Indonesian.
  • Length: Manuscripts should be between 8 to 15 pages (3,500 – 7,000 words), including figures, tables, and references.
  • File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format, following the journal's official template (English Template | Indonesian Template).
  • Similarity Index: All submissions will be screened for plagiarism using Turnitin/iThenticate. The maximum similarity index allowed is 20% (excluding references).

2. Statement of Originality (Mandatory)

  • Requirement: Transformatika requires a signed Statement of Originality for every manuscript submission, following the document's official template described on the Statement of Originality Page.
  • Purpose: This document guarantees academic integrity, protects intellectual property, and prevents duplicate submissions.
  • Procedure: Authors must download the form, sign it (affixed with an e-meterai / duty stamp if required), and upload it as a Supplementary File during Step 4 of the OJS submission process.

3. Policy on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-Assisted Technologies

  • Permitted Usage: Authors may use Generative AI (GenAI) and AI-assisted technologies solely to improve language editing, sentence clarity, and proofreading, or for assisting with routine code formatting.
  • Authorship Prohibition: AI tools cannot be listed as an author or co-author. Authorship carries legal and ethical accountability that belongs exclusively to human researchers.
  • Prohibition of Synthetic Data: AI must NOT be used to generate synthetic experimental data, fabricate citations, or manipulate scientific imagery.
  • Mandatory Disclosure: Authors must transparently declare GenAI usage in a dedicated section titled "Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing" before the References section in the manuscript. 4. Manuscript Structure (IMRaD)

The manuscript should be systematically organized as follows:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and reflects the "transformative" aspect of the research (Max 10–14 words).
  • Abstract: A single paragraph (150–250 words) structured as: Problem Background, Research Gap/Novelty, Objective, Method, Key Quantitative Findings, and Conclusion/Implication.
  • Keywords: 3–5 keywords, separated by semicolons (;).
  • Introduction: State the research background, literature review, explicit State of the Art (SOTA), research gap, and clear study objectives.
  • Methods: Provide sufficient detail for scientific replication. For intelligent systems, include algorithm pseudocode, flowchart, or architecture diagrams.
  • Results and Discussion: Present factual findings clearly using tables and figures. The discussion must compare results with previous benchmarks and explain the scientific contribution.
  • Conclusion: Summarize core findings, answer research objectives, and suggest concrete future research directions.
  • Declarations: Include mandatory sub-headings: Author Contributions (CRediT), Declaration of AI Usage, Funding Statement, and Conflict of Interest.
  • References: Minimum of 15 references, with at least 80% primary sources (journal articles) published within the last 5–10 years.

5. Tables, Figures, and Equations

  • Tables: Tables must be editable text (not images), formatted in a professional three-line table (horizontal lines only, no vertical lines). Table titles are placed above the table.
  • Figures: Figure captions are placed below the figure. All visuals must be high resolution (min. 300 dpi) and unbordered.
  • Equations: Must be created using Microsoft Equation or MathType, numbered consecutively in parentheses on the right margin.
  • Algorithms: Pseudocode should be presented in Courier New font (9–10 pt) with sequential algorithm titles.

6. Citation and Reference Manager

  • Style: Use IEEE Style (numbered format in square brackets, e.g., [1]) consistently.
  • Reference Tools: Authors must manage citations using reference software such as Mendeley or Zotero. Persistent DOI links must be included for every reference where available.

7. Manuscript Revision & Response to Reviewers

  • Revision Deadline: Authors granted a revision decision (Minor or Major Revision) must submit their updated manuscript within the specified timeframe (typically 7–14 days).
  • Response to Reviewers Document: Authors must complete and upload a point-by-point response document using the official Response to Reviewers Template.
  • Highlighting Changes: All edits made in the revised manuscript file must be clearly highlighted (e.g., using Track Changes or colored text font) to facilitate re-evaluation by reviewers and editors.
  • Submission Procedure: Upload both the clean revised manuscript and the completed Response to Reviewers document in the OJS Review stage under Revisions.

8. Submission Process

Submissions are strictly accepted through our Online Submission System at the Jurnal Transformatika Portal. Authors must first Register as an "Author" and follow the step-by-step submission workflow in OJS.
