Author Guidelines

Jurnal Transformatika invites authors to submit original research manuscripts that have not been published previously and are not under consideration elsewhere. Submissions must adhere to the technical, ethical, and formatting standards outlined below.

1. General Requirements

  • Language: All manuscripts must be written in professional academic English or Indonesian.
  • Length: Manuscripts should be between 8 to 15 pages (3,500 – 7,000 words), including figures, tables, and references.
  • File Format: Manuscripts must be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format following the official journal templates:
  • Similarity Index: All submissions are screened for plagiarism using Turnitin/iThenticate. The overall similarity index must be below 20% (excluding references).

2. Manuscript Types

Jurnal Transformatika accepts two distinct categories of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Article: Full-length reports of original empirical research, algorithmic developments, or system implementations (8–15 pages).
  2. Review / Survey Article: Critical overviews of current state-of-the-art literature in intelligent systems and informatics (Max 20 pages).

3. Statement of Originality (Mandatory)

  • Requirement: Authors must submit a signed Statement of Originality featuring an Indonesian Duty Stamp (Meterai Rp10.000 / e-Materai) for every submission.
  • Purpose: Ensures academic integrity, protects intellectual property, and prevents duplicate submissions.

4. Policy on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-Assisted Technologies

  • Permitted Usage: Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) may be used solely for language editing, grammar improvement, or code formatting assistance.
  • Authorship Prohibition: AI tools cannot be listed as an author or co-author.
  • Mandatory Disclosure: Authors must transparently disclose AI usage in a dedicated section titled "Declaration of Generative AI in Scientific Writing" preceding the References. Further guidelines are detailed on our official AI Policy Page.

5. Authorship Eligibility and Criteria

All listed authors must satisfy all four of the following criteria:

  1. Substantial contributions to research conception, design, data acquisition, or analysis;
  2. Drafting the work or revising it critically for important intellectual content;
  3. Final approval of the version to be published; and
  4. Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work.

6. Manuscript Structure (IMRaD)

Manuscripts must be organized logically using the IMRaD framework:

  • Title: Concise, informative, and reflecting core research findings (Max 10–14 words).
  • Abstract: A single paragraph (150–250 words) covering Problem Background, Novelty, Methods, Key Quantitative Results, and Conclusions.
  • Keywords: 3–5 keywords separated by semicolons (;).
  • Introduction: Research background, literature review, explicit State of the Art (SOTA), research gap, and clear study objectives.
  • Methods: Detailed methodology, pseudocode, algorithm flowcharts, or system architecture diagrams to ensure replicability.
  • Results and Discussion: Factual presentation of data with comparative discussion against existing benchmarks.
  • Conclusion: Summarize core findings, answer research objectives, and suggest concrete future research directions.
  • Declarations: Mandatory sub-headings before References: Author Contributions (CRediT), Declaration of AI Usage, Funding Statement, and Conflict of Interest.
  • References: Minimum 15 references, with (≥) 80% primary journal articles published within the last 5–10 years equipped with active DOIs.

7. Tables, Figures, and Equations

  • Tables: Formatted as editable text in a professional three-line table layout (horizontal lines only) with titles placed above.
  • Figures: High-resolution visuals (min. 300 dpi) with captions placed below.
  • Equations: Formatted using Microsoft Equation or MathType, numbered sequentially in parentheses on the right margin.
  • Algorithms: Pseudocode should be presented in Courier New font (9–10 pt) with sequential algorithm titles.

8. Citation Style and Reference Manager

  • Style: All citations and references must strictly adhere to IEEE Style (numbered in square brackets).
  • Reference Management Tools: Authors must manage citations using software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

9. Peer Review & Revision Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a strict Double-Blind Peer Review process by at least two independent subject experts.

  • Authors receiving a revision decision must adhere to highlighting rules, complete a point-by-point response document, and submit updates within specified deadlines as detailed in our Revised Manuscript Policy Page.

10. Online Submissions Procedure

Submissions are handled exclusively through our OJS 3.5 portal.

  1. Authors must first Register as an Author or Login.
  2. Complete the 5-step submission workflow, upload mandatory files, and verify metadata.
  3. Access the submission entry point directly via the Online Submissions Page.
