Jurnal Transformatika is firmly committed to the principles of Open Access for scientific and scholarly research. We believe that providing unrestricted, free, and immediate access to research findings supports a greater global exchange of knowledge, accelerates scientific discovery, enhances educational opportunities, and maximizes the societal impact of technological innovations.
In alignment with the mission of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, Universitas Semarang (FTIK USM), this policy outlines our dedication to providing open, convenient, and sustainable access to our publication archives for researchers, academicians, practitioners, and the general public worldwide.
2. Free and Immediate Access to Articles and Archives
All articles published in Jurnal Transformatika—including current issues and complete historical back issues—are available permanently and freely online immediately upon publication.
- No Paywall or Subscription Fees: Readers and institutions are not required to pay subscription fees, purchase paywall passes, or register for paid memberships to read, view, or download full-text PDF articles.
- No Embargo Period: Access to published research is never restricted or delayed by an embargo period.
3. Definition of Open Access & Permitted Reuse
Adhering to the established definitions of Open Access by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Jurnal Transformatika permits users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of all published articles.
Users are authorized to crawl articles for automated indexing, pass text and data to software systems, or utilize content for any lawful, academic, or commercial purpose without requesting prior permission from the publisher or the authors, provided that appropriate attribution is given under the terms of our Creative Commons License.
4. Author Copyright Retention and Licensing (CC BY 4.0)
The implementation of Jurnal Transformatika's access policy balances open dissemination with copyright protection, academic integrity, and proper attribution:
- Author Copyright Retention: Authors who publish with Jurnal Transformatika retain full, unrestricted copyright ownership of their scholarly work.
- Creative Commons Licensing (CC BY 4.0): All published articles are licensed and distributed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

- Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format for any purpose, even commercially.
- Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
- Mandatory Attribution Term:
- Attribution (BY): Users must give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and Jurnal Transformatika as the primary source of publication, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made. This must be done in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses the user or their use.
5. Article Processing Charges (APCs) & Financial Support
To support rigorous editorial workflows, double-blind peer review management, digital archiving, Crossref DOI registration, and long-term journal sustainability, Jurnal Transformatika operates under a transparent financial structure.
- No Access Charges: Readers are never charged fees to access published content.
- Institutional Support: Infrastructure hosting, plagiarism detection tools (Turnitin), and preservation systems are subsidized through institutional support from Universitas Semarang. Information regarding Article Processing Charges (APCs) for authors is transparently documented on our Article Processing Charge page.
6. Benefits of Open Access
