Abstract

Uncontrolled electrical energy consumption can lead to energy waste and increased operational costs, particularly in industrial environments with multiple electrical distribution panels. Conventional power meters that only display data locally without historical data storage make monitoring and evaluation less effective, thereby limiting the analysis of electricity consumption and the identification of potential energy waste. This study aims to develop an Internet of Things (IoT)-based electrical energy monitoring system using an ESP32 microcontroller, a PZEM-004T power sensor, and an automatic relay control mechanism. The proposed system is capable of monitoring key electrical parameters, including voltage, current, power, and energy consumption, in real time through a Wi-Fi network. Furthermore, the monitored data are automatically stored in Google Spreadsheet, enabling historical data recording for energy analysis and efficiency evaluation. The proposed system is expected to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of electrical energy monitoring, simplify energy management, and reduce energy waste and operational costs through more optimal electricity utilization.
