Electronic Filing and Manuscript Submission
Journal Ius Constituendum (JIC) implements an electronic manuscript submission process to facilitate the efficient, transparent, and organized handling of scholarly manuscripts. The submission system supports communication between authors and the editorial team and enables manuscripts to be processed systematically throughout the editorial and publication workflow.
Authors are required to submit manuscripts through the journal's designated electronic submission system and follow the applicable author guidelines, submission requirements, and editorial procedures. Before submitting a manuscript, authors should ensure that all required files and declarations have been prepared and that the manuscript complies with the journal's formatting and ethical requirements.
1. Electronic Submission of Manuscripts
Authors must submit their manuscripts electronically through the submission platform provided by Journal Ius Constituendum. Manuscripts must be written in English and prepared in accordance with the journal's Author Guidelines and official manuscript template.
The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that the submission is complete and that all information entered into the submission system is accurate. Required information includes the manuscript title, full names of all authors, institutional affiliations, email addresses, and other information requested by the journal.
Where applicable, authors must also provide supplementary files and declarations relevant to the research, including ethical approval, informed consent, funding information, conflict-of-interest disclosures, author contributions, and permissions for third-party materials.
2. Manuscript File Preparation and Formatting
Manuscripts must be submitted in an accepted word-processing format, such as Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format (RTF), in accordance with the journal's submission system. Authors should ensure that the manuscript is complete, readable, and properly organized before uploading it.
Essential Manuscript Requirements
- Language: English.
- Minimum length: 5,000 words.
- Paper size: A4.
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt.
- Line spacing: 1.15.
- File format: Microsoft Word or RTF, subject to the available submission system requirements.
- Citation and references: Chicago Manual of Style, 17th Edition (Full Note).
- Reference management: Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero.
- Manuscript structure and layout: in accordance with the official JIC template.
The manuscript should include the required scholarly components, including the title, author information, affiliations, abstract, keywords, introduction, method, results and discussion, conclusion, acknowledgements where applicable, and references. Authors must ensure that tables, figures, citations, and references are presented consistently with the journal's requirements.
Authors must use the official Journal Ius Constituendum manuscript template. Submissions that do not comply with the required template may be returned for correction or rejected in accordance with the journal's editorial policy.
The official manuscript template is available through the following link: Download the JIC Manuscript Template.
3. Originality and Similarity Screening
Submitted manuscripts must represent original scholarly work and must not have been published previously or be under consideration by another journal at the same time, except where an explicitly permitted arrangement applies and has been disclosed to the editorial team.
JIC screens submitted manuscripts using Turnitin to identify potential textual similarity and possible plagiarism. Under the journal's stated requirements, manuscripts showing a similarity level exceeding 25% may be rejected. Similarity results are assessed in accordance with the journal's screening procedures and applicable editorial judgment.
Authors remain responsible for the accuracy of citations, proper acknowledgment of sources, originality of the submitted work, and compliance with the journal's research and publication ethics requirements.
4. Submission Checklist and Author Responsibilities
Before completing a submission, authors must verify that:
- The manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration by another journal, unless an explanation of an expressly permitted arrangement has been provided to the editor.
- The submission file is in an accepted format, such as Microsoft Word or RTF, as supported by the submission system.
- Available URLs for cited references have been provided where appropriate.
- The manuscript follows the required font, spacing, formatting, and citation style.
- Tables, figures, and illustrations are placed at appropriate locations in the manuscript and are properly identified.
- The manuscript follows the JIC Author Guidelines and official template.
- Where applicable, the manuscript has been anonymized in accordance with the journal's instructions for double-anonymous peer review.
- All co-authors have reviewed and approved the submitted manuscript and agreed to its submission to JIC.
- All required permissions, ethical declarations, acknowledgements, and supporting documents have been provided.
Authors should retain any submission confirmation or reference number generated by the electronic system, where available, for future correspondence with the editorial office.
5. Initial Editorial Screening
After submission, the editorial team conducts an initial assessment to determine whether the manuscript falls within the scope of JIC and meets the journal's basic submission requirements. This assessment may include checking manuscript completeness, formatting, compliance with the official template, originality, ethical declarations, and suitability for further editorial consideration.
Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be returned to the authors for correction or additional information. Submissions that fall outside the journal's scope or fail to satisfy essential editorial or ethical requirements may be rejected at the initial screening stage.
Passing the initial screening does not guarantee acceptance. Manuscripts remain subject to editorial assessment, applicable peer-review procedures, revision requirements, and the final editorial decision.
6. Editorial Processing and Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening may be assigned to an editor for further assessment and, where appropriate, peer review in accordance with the journal's review policy. The electronic submission system supports the management of reviewer reports, editorial decisions, revised manuscripts, and related correspondence.
Authors may be asked to revise their manuscripts in response to editorial comments or reviewer recommendations. Revised manuscripts and response letters must be submitted through the designated electronic system within the deadline communicated by the editorial office, where applicable.
When a response to reviewers is requested, authors should provide a clear, point-by-point explanation of how each comment has been addressed. If a recommendation is not adopted, the authors should provide a reasoned explanation.
All communications concerning manuscript evaluation, revisions, acceptance, or rejection should be handled through the journal's official communication channels. Authors are expected to monitor these communications and respond within the stated deadlines.
7. Publication Fee and Article Processing Charge (APC)
Effective from 1 June 2025, manuscripts accepted for publication in Journal Ius Constituendum are subject to an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 100.00 or IDR 1,500,000 (Rp1.500.000).
Official Publication Fee
| Publication fee | USD 100.00 (for foreign writers) or IDR 1,500,000 |
| Bank | Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) |
| Account number | 2092673882 |
| Account name | Jurnal Ius Constituendum |
Authors are requested to transfer the publication fee only to the official bank account stated above. Proof of payment must be submitted to the journal editorial office in accordance with the journal's publication procedures.
The publication fee applies to accepted manuscripts in accordance with the journal's APC policy. The ability or inability of an author to pay the APC must not determine the editorial decision to accept or reject a manuscript.
Waiver and Discount Policy
JIC provides publication fee waivers for authors from low-income economies and discounts for authors from lower-middle-income economies. Waivers or discounts may also be considered for other authors who can demonstrate financial need.
Requests for a publication fee waiver or discount should be submitted to the editorial office and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Requests should clearly explain the circumstances supporting the application. The availability of a waiver or discount is assessed separately from the editorial evaluation of the manuscript.
8. Proofreading and Final Publication Preparation
At the final stage of publication, the manuscript may undergo proofreading after the authors have completed the revisions required by the reviewers and editors. Authors are expected to ensure that the revised manuscript is accurate, complete, and ready for final editorial processing.
Any proofreading arrangements, associated charges, or additional publication requirements will be communicated in accordance with the journal's applicable procedures. Payment of the APC does not guarantee acceptance, and editorial decisions remain independent of an author's ability to pay publication fees.
9. Communication with the Editorial Office
Authors should use the official communication facilities provided by JIC to request assistance or clarification concerning submission requirements, manuscript status, revisions, or publication procedures.
Inquiries should include the manuscript title and submission reference number, where available, to help the editorial team identify the relevant submission. Authors must promptly inform the editorial office of significant errors discovered after submission, changes to author information, or other circumstances that may affect the editorial evaluation.
10. Confidentiality, Privacy, and Data Security
Information submitted through the journal's website, including names and email addresses, will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of Journal Ius Constituendum and will not be made available for other purposes or to other parties, except where required for legitimate journal operations or applicable legal obligations.
Submitted manuscripts and associated materials should be handled confidentially and accessed only by authorized individuals involved in the editorial and peer-review process. Authors must not submit confidential third-party information without appropriate authorization and must ensure that research data, images, tables, and other materials comply with applicable ethical, legal, and copyright requirements.
11. Technical Problems and Submission Assistance
If authors experience technical difficulties, encounter file-upload errors, or are unable to complete the electronic submission process, they should contact the editorial office through the official contact information provided on the journal's website.
Authors should describe the problem clearly and provide the manuscript title, submission reference number if available, and relevant error details. If the electronic platform is temporarily unavailable, authors should follow any alternative instructions formally provided by the editorial office rather than submitting multiple duplicate copies.
12. Final Submission Commitment
By submitting a manuscript to Journal Ius Constituendum, authors confirm that the information and documents supplied are accurate to the best of their knowledge, that all co-authors have approved the submission, and that the manuscript complies with the journal's applicable editorial, formatting, and ethical requirements.
Electronic submission is an administrative process and does not constitute a promise of acceptance or publication. Every manuscript remains subject to the journal's editorial assessment, applicable peer-review procedures, publication ethics requirements, and final editorial decision.
Commitment to Transparent Submission
Journal Ius Constituendum is committed to maintaining an orderly, transparent, and responsible manuscript submission process. Authors are encouraged to follow the journal's instructions carefully and cooperate with the editorial team to support the integrity and quality of scholarly publishing.
