Plagiarism Policy

Humani (Hukum dan Masyarakat Madani) strictly prohibits plagiarism and self-plagiarism in any form. Authors are required to ensure that their manuscripts are entirely original. If the work and/or words of others are used, they must be properly cited or quoted in accordance with academic standards.

Authors should not publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be provided, including citing publications that have significantly influenced the reported research.

Screening and Checking Process

All submitted manuscripts undergo a plagiarism screening process conducted by the editorial team. This process includes:

  • Manual checking of citations and quotations to ensure proper academic referencing;
  • Screening using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin) to identify overlapping and similar text.

If a manuscript is found to contain a similarity index exceeding 25%, it will be automatically rejected. Authors are therefore expected to ensure that all sources are properly acknowledged and that the similarity level remains within acceptable limits.

Prior to publication, authors are required to submit a written confirmation in the form of an Originality Statement. This statement must be signed by at least one author, who has obtained the consent of all co-authors where applicable, confirming that the submitted work is original and free from plagiarism.
