Authors whose manuscripts receive a decision of Minor Revision, Major Revision, or Revision Required are required to revise their manuscripts in accordance with the comments and recommendations provided by the Editors and Reviewers of Indonesian Journal of Spatial Planning (IJSP).
To ensure transparency and facilitate the evaluation of revisions, authors are required to use the "Track Changes" function in Microsoft Word when preparing the revised manuscript. Track Changes must remain activated throughout the revision process so that all additions, deletions, modifications, spatial analysis updates, and structural edits can be easily identified by the Editorial Team and Peer Reviewers.
1. Required Revision Documents
Authors must submit the following four required documents upon re-submission:
1.1 Revised Manuscript with Track Changes
A revised version of the manuscript in which all modifications made in response to reviewer and editor comments remain fully visible using Microsoft Word’s Track Changes feature.
1.2 Clean Revised Manuscript
A clean version of the final revised manuscript with all revisions incorporated and all Track Changes, internal notes, and markup removed.
1.3 Response to Reviewers (Point-by-Point Matrix)
A comprehensive response detailing how each comment was addressed. Authors must explicitly reference the specific page, section, or line numbers in the manuscript where revisions were made. If a comment or requested modification is not adopted, authors must state a clear, academically justified rationale.
1.4 Similarity Report & AI Detection Report
Updated Turnitin similarity report (must be ≤25%) and AI detection report corresponding specifically to the revised manuscript version. Authors are responsible for ensuring reports are complete and legible.
2. Important Requirements
Authors must not disable Track Changes or accept all changes prior to submitting the tracked version of the revised manuscript.
The Turnitin similarity report and AI detection report are evaluated alongside manuscript quality to uphold research integrity.
Disagreements with reviewer suggestions must be respectfully defended in the Response to Reviewers with clear scientific or methodological reasoning.
3. Revision Compliance & Non-Compliance
The Editorial Team of Indonesian Journal of Spatial Planning (IJSP) may unsubmit or return a revised manuscript for correction before peer review if:
The Track Changes version is missing or has changes accepted.
The Response to Reviewers is incomplete or fails to address comments point-by-point.
Discrepancies exist between the clean version and the tracked version.
The Turnitin or AI detection reports are missing or incomplete.
Revisions fail to address critical reviewer queries regarding spatial data, methodology, or analysis.
Purpose of Revision Policy: The systematic use of Track Changes, response matrices, and detection reports enhances peer-review transparency, supports original scholarship in spatial planning, and streamlines the re-evaluation process for Editors and Reviewers.
