Indonesian Journal of Spatial Planning (IJSP) is committed to maintaining the long-term accessibility, integrity, and permanent availability of its published scholarly content through robust digital preservation and archival practices.
1. Digital Preservation through LOCKSS & CLOCKSS
Indonesian Journal of Spatial Planning (IJSP) utilizes the Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS) and CLOCKSS system to support the digital preservation of all published articles. LOCKSS creates a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
Through this preservation approach, IJSP ensures that published research in spatial planning, GIS, and urban studies remains protected against permanent data loss resulting from server disruptions, technical failures, or long-term system changes.
LOCKSS System Reference: Further information regarding the LOCKSS digital preservation framework is available at https://www.lockss.org/.
2. Access, Preservation, and Restoration
IJSP preserves all published full-text articles along with their associated bibliographic metadata, persistent identifiers (DOIs), and supplementary materials to guarantee uninterrupted long-term access. If the primary publication platform experiences server outage or technical service interruptions, archived content can be restored to maintain continuous availability for the global academic community.
3. Long-Term Accessibility and Content Integrity
IJSP recognizes the importance of preserving the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Published articles remain permanently identifiable and accessible via Crossref DOIs.
Any post-publication adjustments (such as formal errata, corrigenda, or retractions) will be handled transparently in accordance with COPE guidelines and IJSP editorial policies. Digital archiving ensures that these notices remain permanently linked to the original published manuscript.
4. Licensing and Use of Archived Content
Content published in Indonesian Journal of Spatial Planning (IJSP) is open access and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits users to share, copy, redistribute, and adapt the material in any medium or format for any purpose, provided appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and publication source.
Digital preservation (LOCKSS) and licensing (CC BY 4.0) work together: LOCKSS ensures the continuous physical preservation of digital files, while CC BY 4.0 grants legal rights for the public to access and utilize the archived content freely.
5. Policy Implementation and Review
The Editorial Board and technical team of IJSP oversee the implementation of digital archiving strategies. This policy is reviewed periodically to align with technical updates in OJS digital preservation plugins and evolving international standards in scholarly publishing.
Preservation Commitment:Indonesian Journal of Spatial Planning (IJSP) remains fully dedicated to guaranteeing the permanent preservation, continuous accessibility, and scholarly integrity of all published research across future digital environments.
