The Great Mosque of Central Java (Masjid Agung Jawa Tengah, MAJT) in Semarang
stands as a prominent manifestation of religious architecture that seamlessly blends
visual aesthetics with cultural and spiritual da'wah. This study aims to analyze the
potential of religious events at MAJT in attracting tourist interest. Employing a qualitative
descriptive approach through library research, this study examines the relevance of
religious activities as spiritual and cultural tourist attractions. The findings indicate that
the consistent organization of religious events such as Safari Ramadan, the Prophet’s
Birthday Festival (Gebyar Maulid Nabi), Isra Mi'raj celebrations, Quranic recitation
competitions (MTQ), and national Islamic lectures acts as an effective pull factor for
tourist visits. This success is heavily supported by a combination of spiritual, educational,
emotional, and social dimensions, combined with MAJT’s unique architectural design
incorporating Javanese, Arabic, and Roman-Greek cultural elements. Although
challenges remain regarding integrated digital promotion and local partnerships,
strategic collaboration among mosque management, local government, travel agents,
and SMEs offers vast opportunities to foster a sustainable religious tourism ecosystem
