Manuscript Type
Indonesian Journal of Civil Engineering Study (IJCES) exclusively accepts research articles that contribute to the development of civil engineering knowledge, technology, practice, and innovation. All submissions must present original research, demonstrate academic rigor, and fall within the scope of the journal.
Research Articles
Research articles present original research findings based on systematic investigation, scientific analysis, experimentation, modeling, field studies, and scholarly interpretation of civil engineering issues. Each manuscript is expected to provide a clear and meaningful contribution to the development of civil engineering knowledge, engineering practice, infrastructure development, or technological innovation.
Research articles may employ experimental, analytical, numerical, computational, field-based, laboratory-based, empirical, comparative, or other appropriate research methods, depending on the research questions and objectives. The methodology must be clearly explained, scientifically sound, and appropriate to the engineering problems being investigated.
Manuscripts should identify a specific engineering problem, explain the relevant scientific and technical context, describe the research methodology, present and critically discuss the results, and formulate conclusions that directly address the research objectives. The analysis must go beyond merely describing existing conditions, theories, standards, or previous studies and should demonstrate the authors' own scientific reasoning, findings, and contribution.
Research articles may cover areas within the scope of civil engineering, including but not limited to:
-
Structural Engineering
-
Construction Engineering and Management
-
Geotechnical Engineering
-
Transportation Engineering
-

General Requirements
All research articles submitted to Indonesian Journal of Civil Engineering Study (IJCES) must be written in English, constitute original scholarly work, and comply with the journal's Author Guidelines, official manuscript template, citation style, and publication ethics policies. Manuscripts must meet the journal's minimum word count and formatting requirements and must not be under simultaneous consideration by another journal.
All submissions are subject to initial editorial screening and the journal's applicable peer-review process. Submission as a research article does not guarantee acceptance or publication. The final decision rests with the editorial team in accordance with the journal's editorial standards and publication policies.
Exclusive Manuscript Type
Indonesian Journal of Civil Engineering Study (IJCES) accepts research articles only. Review papers, case studies, technical notes, and correspondence to the editors are not accepted as separate manuscript types. All submitted manuscripts must present original research findings and make a substantive contribution to the field of civil engineering.
