Konstruksi Framing Berita Artificial Intelligence di Portal Berita Kompas.com

Abstract

This study analyzes the framing of news coverage regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI) on the online news platform Kompas.com using Robert N. Entman's framing analysis approach, aiming to identify how the media frames AI issues in the public sphere. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method through observation and documentation of five AI-related news articles published by Kompas.com during a specific period. The findings reveal that Kompas.com tends to highlight certain aspects of AI issues, such as their impact on education, society, and public policy, while emphasizing both the opportunities and challenges posed by this technology. The framing process is evident in the selection of news angles, sources, and issue topics, ultimately shaping public perception of AI. The study concludes that media framing plays a vital role in influencing public opinion about the development and implementation of AI in Indonesia.
