Abstract

This research aims to determine the process of preparing news in increasing the role of education in print media reporting. The method in this research is qualitative using Elvinaro's Agenda Setting theory and Gatekeeping Analysis Theory. The research results show that the media is able to influence audiences by placing emphasis on an event. This emphasis is made to make the event very important to discuss. In this case, print media is still lacking in its role as an educational forum, to develop and report on a series of works and achievements of the nation's children both academically and non-academicly.
