INTERAKSI SIMBOLIK SISWA TUNARUNGU DI SEKOLAH UMUM

Abstract


This paper aims to find out how the symbolic interaction process occurs in deaf students studying at the public school SD Maranatha 01. The importance of communication built by deaf students towards teachers and other students who have good hearing will influence changes in meaning and behavior. The research method used in the research is descriptive qualitative, where data collection is carried out through observation and interviews. The basis used in this research is the Symbolic Interaction theory of George Herbert Mead. The results of this research indicate that the behavior and forms of interaction that occur among deaf students at SD Maranatha 01 are influenced by social processes. The language of mouth and hand movements is formed because the public school environment influences the behavior of deaf students to adapt to their environment.
