ANALISIS SEMIOTIKA PADA LIRIK LAGU “MANUSIA SETENGAH DEWA” YANG DI POPULERKAN OLEH IWAN FALS

Abstract


This research contains the use of social criticism in the lyrics of the song Half a God (Semiotic Study of Ferdinand de Saussure). The semiotic method that will be used in this research is semiotics from Saussure's thoughts. In Saussure's theory, it is explained that signs have interrelated elements, namely syntax and paradox. This process connects song lyrics with the real external world. The results of this research show that the lyrics of the song "Human Half God" by Iwan Fals have interrelated meanings containing the message of Social Criticism. The social criticism contained in the lyrics of the song "Human Half God" is very strong, because it contains many words that are very constructive in terms of criticizing the government through songs. Then the data analysis technique used is analysis using Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotic theory. Saussure's theoretical model focuses more direct attention on the sign itself.
