Abstract

This study attempts to explain how the role of modification of wayang orang stories as a means of transferring knowledge in society using the communicator theory. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive, with an ethnographic communication approach, to analyze the communication behavior of people who are members of cultural groups. The results of this study are changes in the storyline in the language used by wayang orang Ngesti Pandowo during the performance, it turns out that it can make it easier for today's society to understand the meaning and moral message to be conveyed.
