Abstract

Digital technology development in accounting requires students to possess adequate digital accounting literacy, particularly in using cloud-based accounting software. The main problem addressed in this community service program was the limited experience of students in operating digital accounting software, which affected their understanding of recording, processing, and preparing financial reports through an accounting information system. This program aimed to improve students’ digital accounting literacy through cloud-based accounting software training. The implementation method consisted of several stages, including needs analysis, training material design, pre-test administration, material delivery, hands-on software practice, mentoring, post-test administration, evaluation, and reflection. The results showed a measurable improvement in students’ competencies, as indicated by an increase in the average pre-test score from 55.75 to 83.93 in the post-test, representing an improvement of 28.18 points or approximately 50.55%. Furthermore, students were able to complete a simple accounting case, including setting up initial company data, preparing a chart of accounts, recording transactions, and generating financial statements. These findings indicate that practice-based training is effective in improving students’ digital accounting literacy. The implication of this program is the need to integrate cloud-based accounting software training into accounting education
