Abstract

This study aims to understand the role of organizational communication in fostering teamwork within the Work From Anywhere (WFA) system at INAmikro, a digital startup focused on empowering and digitizing micro-enterprises through business assistance and digital technology. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using Edgar Schein’s organizational culture theory. The main focus of this study is the artifact layer, representing the most visible and observable aspects of organizational culture. The findings reveal that the use of digital communication platforms, combined with structured communication patterns, has formed a unique communication culture at INAmikro. The presence of daily reporting, weekly timelines, structured communication groups based on region or division, and evaluation forums such as weekly and monthly evaluations plays a significant role in shaping structured and open communication practices. These artifacts function not only as communication tools but also as reinforcements of the sense of connection among team members, despite the remote working conditions. This leads to the creation of a productive and synchronized teamwork dynamic aligned with the organization’s goals. Thus, it can be concluded that the artifact layer serves as a strong enabler of team collaboration, allowing synergy to be maintained in INAmikro's flexible work environment.
