Abstract


This study analyzes how CMC platforms such as OLX play a role in overcoming communication barriers between car brokers and their customers on OLX. This study focuses on the OLX account @jualbelimobildemak. The theoretical framework in this study is Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC). This study uses qualitative methods and data triangulation to obtain relevant data. Data were collected through interviews with car brokers who use OLX and observations on communication between car brokers and customers on the @jualbelimobildemak account. The study results indicate that CMC platforms, especially OLX, play an important role in overcoming communication barriers between car brokers. These roles include; Supporting the development of individual communication competencies, Improving communication skills in online business, Expanding understanding of interpersonal communication with customers, and Overcoming the dynamics of communication between individuals and customers. By using the communication features provided by OLX, brokers can reduce communication barriers and reach a wider audience. Thus, the OLX CMC platform is not only used as a marketing tool but also helps develop user understanding of interpersonal communication in the automotive industry.
