Eksplorasi Penggambaran Perempuan Dalam Novel Sunset Bersama Rosie: Analisis Struktur Naratif A.J Greimas

Abstract

This study explores the depiction of women in the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie by Tere Liye to use narrative analysis. This study uses a qualitative method with narrative analysis by A.J. Greimas. The research data comes from the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie by Tere Liye. The instruments used to analyze the data are the actant scheme and functional model. Both instruments are operated to identify character involvement and story development. The results found 18 conflicts that indicate the dominance of male characters. This explains that the role of women is still passive. This depiction is a reflection of patriarchal culture. From the perspective of existentialist feminism, women in the novel Sunset Bersama Rosie are subordinated because male characters still consider women as "The Other" with their inferior characteristics.
